She reviewed HB 1491 regarding universal school meals, which the District supports, and HB 1532 regarding establishing a voucher reimbursement program for private schools, which the District does not support. Robin Nelson provided an update on the 2023 legislative session and the bills that are being tracked, including bills impacting school meals and funding. Kristin Burgess spoke on an incident in school regarding her child and a substitute teacher. Deven Styczynski spoke on free meals for students, services for special education students and financial auditing.

President Newman asked for an approval of the agenda with the removal of the Level 3 Grievance from the Business Section. Gandhi was enough to move the issue to a Level 3 Grievance, but they will restart the process and submit the grievance at a different time. President Reger informed President Newman that the FEA felt the email exchange with Dr. President Newman shared that FEA President Kim Reger indicated in an email the FEA is pulling the grievance included on the meeting agenda.
